Central Freight Lines Purchases Wilson Trucking

As of 4/3/2017, it is official that the purchase of Southeastern based Wilson Trucking by Southwestern based Central Freight Lines has been finalized.  Wilson Trucking was established in 1926, in Fisherville, VA.  They were a third generation privately held LTL carrier with 29 strategically located terminals located in the Southeast allowing them to service a 9-state footprint of VA, MD, WV, TN, NC, SC, GA, MS, FL and the DC area.  Central will continue to serve these states and provide the same services that Wilson Trucking customers enjoyed, such as LTL, time-critical shipments and distribution services.

This purchase will allow Central Freight Lines, a Waco, TX based LTL carrier operating with 56-terminals in the West and Southwest regions to expand their service area to the Southeast states as listed above, as well as Puerto Rico.  As Mr. Don Orr, president and CEO of Central Freight Lines commented, “This expansion to the entire Southeastern U.S. and Puerto Rico improves our long term competitive position in the LTL and distribution markets and allows us to give our customers the extended coverage they’ve been asking for.”

Central Freight Lines was established in 1925 and the company operates 1.600 tractors and 8,000 trailers from 56-terminals in the West and Southwest.  Privately owned and operated, Central Freight Lines is often recognized for its ongoing accomplishments in service, quality and safety.
